Your lawyers spend less time updating Clio.
Clio is where matters, contacts and time live. But clients still phone for updates, fee earners still reconstruct their day at 6pm, and someone still copies matter details into a spreadsheet for the weekly meeting. We build the tools around Clio that take that off their plates.
What we typically build with Clio
A matter update page for clients
Clients check where their matter is without calling. Your paralegals stop fielding "any news?" calls and get on with the file.
Time captured as the day happens
Fee earners get a nudge with a suggested entry based on their calendar and emails. They check it, fix it and it goes into Clio - AI drafts, people decide.
The weekly matters review, ready on Monday
Open matters, stages and unbilled time pulled into one page for the partners, instead of someone building it by hand every Friday.
Common Clio sync problems - and how we handle them
Clio Manage and Clio Grow are separate
Intake usually lives in Clio Grow and the matter itself in Clio Manage. Data doesn't always move between them the way firms expect. We map exactly which details go where.
Trust money needs extra care
Client money in trust is regulated, and mistakes matter. We keep tools that touch trust accounting read-only unless you specifically decide otherwise, and a person always approves.
Request limits and paging
Clio limits how many requests an app can make in a short period and returns large lists in pages. We design syncs to work within that, so big matter lists don't stall.
Custom fields differ firm to firm
Most firms add their own matter fields. We work from your actual setup, not a template, so the tool shows what your team really uses.
Clio questions
Is client data kept confidential?
Yes. The tools run on your own accounts, connected to Clio with access limited to what each tool needs. Nothing is shared between clients, and you can switch access off from Clio at any time.
Will you touch our trust accounting?
Not without your explicit say-so. By default anything near trust money is read-only, and any change is approved by a person at your firm.
Who owns the connection and the tool?
You do. The tools we build run on your own accounts, and each app is connected with its own sign-in, limited to what the tool needs. You can switch access off at any time from inside the app itself.
