Automated reports and monthly summaries for an agency's founder, managers and account managers

Reports precomputed so they load instantly, monthly ROI emails, and summaries of client comments.

The answer first

We built Fame a set of reports that are worked out in the background so they open instantly, plus monthly results emails and client comment summaries, so the founder and managers read results instead of building them. Main result so far: ~55 seconds to instant: load time of the slowest report after precomputing.

The firm

Who we built it for

Fame is a B2B podcast agency that has been running for six years. Its team finds and books guests, produces episodes and promotes each show for around 100 clients, and Fame Crew finds local videographers for shoots and handles the editing. Team size: about 97 people (estimate), most of them freelancers and contractors. Fame is Forge's own sister company, so we built these tools for ourselves first and still run every one of them.

Who uses it: the founder, managers, account managers.

The problem

Reports took longer to build than to read

Weekly and monthly reports were assembled from several tools by hand. When we first moved them online, the heaviest took nearly a minute to load because they walked every episode each time.

Managers spent around 5 hours a week building reports by hand (estimate).

What we built

Reports ready before anyone opens them

Precomputed reports

Every report is worked out in the background every 10 minutes, so it opens instantly.

Monthly ROI emails

A monthly email summarising each client's show results. It is built and switches on once the final checks are done.

Comment summaries

A monthly summary of what clients said in their comments. The report fills in as each month's summary is generated.

How we run it

How we look after the reports and monthly summaries

Forge built this for Fame and looks after it: errors are reported automatically to an error tracker, and anything that stops someone doing their job is fixed the same day.

What broke, and how we fixed it

  • September 2026: The first version cached reports by date, so they went cold at midnight and were emptied by every release; one report took 20 seconds to open the next morning. We moved to reports worked out in the background and stored, keyed by the week rather than today's date.
  • 2 October 2026: The hosting platform started refusing the key the reports used to read show traffic, and the traffic reports went quiet without an error. We added a second key and made the reader try each key in turn and log when one is refused.

Cost

What it would cost a client today

Start with the 2-week ops audit ($2,500 / £2,000, credited to your first month). A tool like this then fits the starter plan at $2,000 / £1,600 a month, with this as the first build included. Reports read data you already have, so they fit starter.

Plans have a 3-month minimum. AI usage is passed on at cost, and the tool runs on your own accounts, so you own it. See pricing for the full breakdown.

Fit

Would this work for your firm?

If someone builds the same report every week, this gives them that time back. It suits accounting firms and agencies alike.
